As I've only got the audiobooks, I always thought his name was Malcolm. Took me a minute to realise who the hell Markham was when that story was published.
So my suggestion is: Malcolm Markham :D

Good thought, but we already have Malcolm Halcombe. More I am unable to say!!!

Having people with the same names would be more realistic though ;)
