nop the last wish is book one :) you should start from it
Spakowski explains more about the world in the Blood of Elves and it catches your attention from the very beginning. Many people start with the Last Wish and are bored. I'd suggest starting with the Blood of Elves ;) (but it's totally fine if you start from the book 1 just keep going the story gets better)
But Blood of the Elves relies on information about the previous books... It might be a hole novel istead of just short stories, but it still expects you to know what's been happening before, I think.
From what I remember it more or less mentions past events so I wasn't confused, but that's just my experience
If that's the case, it's fine, maybe I just thought it relied on it since I already knew it.
I started reading Blood of Elves first because on GoodReads Daily Deals, it showed it as "book 1". Ha. Now I find out that The Last Wish is book 1 and Blood of Elves is book 3.
Interesting, however, that amazon shows The Sword of Destiny as book 4 ("Sword of Destiny (The Witcher Book 4)").
I'm going to just keep reading Baptism by Fire and continue on throughout I suppose, and go back to The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny.
