I found it fairly easy to give a face to Willem - he was described as blonde and with Danish parents (I am Norwegian myself), somehow I ended up picturing a Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting/stereotypical Scandinavian type of guy. However as it is described in the book that no one could really place Jude's ethnicity, and he had dark features, I thought the cover resonated quite well.
