I see exactly where you're coming from; Mitch Albom has tried to cram so much moral wisdom into every page it can feel overwhelming. The book does a lot of serious talking in a very short space of time (much like Morrie), true, but understanding what moral is being taught to you is not supposed to be the end of the story. And the actual plot is not supposed to be the point of the story. It is, essentially, only half of the story; it is Morrie's half of the dialogue he would like to be having with us. The book expects us to do some work and source our own responses.
