Francisca Viola It's still a bit of a mystery to me. (more spoiler alerts ) Were Leo Gursky and Zvi Litvanoff, in at least part of the book, the same person. Or in his head, were they the same person, so he could make sense of the pain in his life?
Also was the young Alma, in some way related to him? Did she meet a replacement for the lost father, or was it him?
