Glad that it felt that inconclusive to you too Lynn. I sometimes wonder that I miss things when I'm 'reading myself to sleep' and my kindle has moved on of its own accord and I have little recollection of some of the pages that have been turned! Although Picoult tries to write about difficult subjects the story usually has quite a sound conclusion at the end which is why I found The Pact a little unusual for her.
Yes, but also consider that what happens to a child often gets blown out of portion in the mind of the child, and this would get especially so since she knew the man as "The Creep" and considered him dirty already in her mind.
