Statistics show that attention spans these days are far shorter than in the past. Consequently it is necessary to constantly keep our product information in front of people. Even followers will forget if there are no new communications. So marketing is a life time undertaking especially for self-published authors. Of course existing books may become subservient to new ones but still require a mention. I have no idea with regard to calendar dates unless the book can be tied to, or is relevant to, a particular celebration, event or season.
