Juls Me too! I felt very anxious and disturbed after reading those scenes and wished I could erase it from my memory too!

Judy I agree completely. I refuse to read books with any kind of detailed sadistic violence, But I love a good murder mystery. I "accidentally" read a Phillip Margolin novel 20 years ago and I wish I could have sort of a lobotomy to rid my brain of its memories of that book. I would avoid that author at all costs.

Katie Thanks for noting this; I just started reading this, but ultimately decided this would probably be too graphic for me-- really appreciate your warning!

Lowell Fultz Sorry ladies, but if simply reading something causes you this much "anxiety" and pain...real life is not going be kind to you.

Emily Simmer It hasn’t been, Lowell, thanks so much for bringing it up. Super helpful. I have read plenty of horror and mystery books and can handle a good deal. But this book is a new level and it‘a a subject matter most of us are able to avoid irl and I’d assume most would prefer to avoid it if possible. This rating may not have been helpful to you but you didn’t need to throw salt on the wound.
