I was thinking that in the final battle, (Cause I'm assuming there's going to be a final battle, what with the whole shadow fire weapon) That celaena/aelin could lil almost die/actually die. and they could be losing but then mala fire bringer kind of like possesses her and it does two things
1. Mala uses her power to win the battle (because they were losing against perrington)
2. when mala leaves her body she has immortality (I haven't figured out how that will work yet but... FANFICTION!!!
If you actually look back in Queen of Shadows is says something about Lorchan or Vernon (I can't remember) about one of them smelling the immortal blood in her veins. Since the magic was banished since she was little, she could've aged normally.
I think that Aelin will be turned immortal by having some sort gift bestowed upon her by the gods... Or that she was already immortal and didn't know yet. We can only hope SJM doesn't pull an Allegiant, as @Kait Lin said
I saw an interesting idea online and that person said maybe Rowan will tie his lofe to her? Like when in Heir of Fire it says 'Mab was very much mortal when she bound her heart to a mortal'...
Maeve said that she will settle (as immortal fae do) and that she and rowen would have 1000 years together.

OHMYGOD e x a c t l y. I was also like: Well... she is connected with Brannon and Elena and and and... What if she already is immortal and doesn't know it yet? I mean, she has al this crazy shit, with the immens power and all that, who says she'll just stop aging at some point? Rowan hasn't aged on the outside since late twenties and Aelin isn't there yet soooo... Or am I missing some vital part that says that isn't naturally possible?

OHMYGOD my thoughts exactly. A lot of people are just now convinced (or not even that) that Rowan and Aelin are IT, but I already had in the beginning of the third book. Annndddd EXACTLY: Maybe Aelin can stay immortal with Rowan, I think that it is going to be, one way or the other, a very mindblowing peace in the book because... well... we're talking about Sarah J. Maas here. I expect more than the "cliche" in which the immortal because mortal for the one they love, u know? ;)
