H S Just might be that the universe is a cognizant being or at least that there is a collective conscience. I note Penrose's conjecture, although it seems to be unpopular at the moment but there are a number of physicists who have found consistency between the inference of Quantum theory and eastern philosophy, including that of the Vedict texts.it would not be inconsistent with a presumption that consciousness or spirit is subject to evolution in the same manner as the physical element of the universe. In fact it might suggest that the idea of a nirvana is not unlike an event horizon.

Douglas Richards I don't know if you've read my novel, Quantum Lens, but I do get into one idea of a sort of universal conscience (call it God or anything you please). I think you might enjoy some of the ideas in this novel, far out though some of them might be.

H S I've read that one as well and made some notes at times, where I thought it was about to go over the deep end, but managed to stay with you to the end and was glad that I had. at the time, might have to revisit it at some point. Seems I was less open to the idea of a collective consciousness at the time. It was only recently that I encountered a number of discussions that seemed to suggest that there was perhaps such a thing as perhaps a stage in evolution. Then someone sent me this link which I was about to discard simply because of the site's objective, except it sparked my curiosity considering that that person who had sent it to me, also an atheist, and I had recently discussed collective intelligence as collective consciousness in relation to convergence: I render no opinion considering that there is a plethora of such material disseminated by the Evangelical Christian community in an attempt to justify literal interpretation of religious texts: http://www.krishnapath.org/quantum-ph...
Perhaps there is something in it you might find useful toward plot development.

Douglas Richards Thanks, I'll take a look. I am fascinated by the arguments for and against a creator. In Game Changer, I cite an example of a Bushman who finds a radio, and I find this a perfect metaphor for the myriad of possibilities out there that we can't even begin to imagine in our wildest dreams.

H S Ditto on such discussions, similarly on physics and just about anything that relates to the question of To be or not to be. Which as you know is proof that Shakespeare was an astrophysicist.
I haven't read that thanks for the heads up. A takeoff on a movie The Gods Must Be Crazy? Much more interesting potential there. I'll add that to my must reads. Mean time while we re about this here is a link to song my son, Jon Patton, wrote with a similar plot that appears on one of his albums.. https://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer.h...#
If thi link doesn't work go here and click music, look for the song listed as Most Distant Star there will be a play icon beside it to listen.
