I feel the pain about the "zombie" smirk. When people ask me what I write on my blog about and I say zombies I get that odd look or head shake, like as if it isn't a real topic or something someone could have a hobby about.

I really do enjoy your genre of zombies. I like to see very different concepts come up in the genre.

It's maddening, isn't it? Once they hear the word "zombies" they think they know what you're all about, as if there's only one possible role that creature can play in culture. I try to delay telling new friends what my books are about until they've gotten to know me a bit.

At least when I tell my students they're impressed! Folks think I'm all about weird stuff and horror, which to an extent I am, when zombies are mentioned. That is why I love your zombie books because they aren't gore and horror. There is love, lessons on humanity, humor, friendship, herosim, and just so much more. I look forward to reading more of your writing, whatever the subject or genre may be. Keep it up!

Warm Bodies - I loved the book. I loved the movie. I tried to watch Walking Dead and I had nightmares for weeks. It was then I realized that you wrote about "nice" zombies and other zombies - bad news. If you're leaving zombies behind, then so am I! :)
