I just read the series a week ago and have been wondering if this was indeed a nod to Voyager since I first heard that humans were "Species 8472" - I am glad i finally have the answer...any nod to an underrated show like Voyager is great in my book!
I just started the book myself and the first thing that came to mind was STAR TREK!! Awesome nod, thanks for that!
I also noticed in the third Atlantis book that there is a 1701-D reference to the Enterprise. Awesome!
