Susan Thanks so much for your answer. I asked for two reasons: 1) I have 2 tween daughters who love your work and it would be awesome for them to be able to read such a series from you and 2) I've been wondering lately if the idea of girls as heroes works in literature. Would Harry Potter have been as successful if he were a girl? Is it as interesting to us if a girl is the one who saves the world? Could Percy have done the same things if he were a girl? But Katniss is a hero, so I think maybe yes, there just may be more girl heroes in our future.

Alexandra @ susan, there are plenty of novels with badass female characters, one of my absolute favorites is the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, which is centered around a female assassin in a high fantasy realm.

Quinten Van Dalen In my opinion, writing in the POV of the opposite gender is one of the best accomplishments an author can achieve. Well, I'm not an author yet, so I can't say.
