Hi Jacklyn. Still can't figure out how to answer these questions! But yes, its my first book. Never expected to be a writer. Just began hearing a southern, black woman's voice one day in my head and had a compulsion to write down her words. That began the journey of me and Addie Mae. It took years to bring it into the world. I feel more like its steward than the writer.
