I mean, she is the main character. She may be self-absorbed but that's just a character trait. They tell you a lot about her because the series IS about her! There could be more show not tell but there is more of that later in the series.
Deana exactly! It balances out more as more characters are included into the story. E.g. the way Lysandra, Aedion, Manon, Dorian, Chaol, Nesryn and Aelin’s perspectives are juggled in the last book creating a sense of intensity
