Janine I personally think that someone did it on Richard's orders and the Duke of Buckingham found out and thats why he rebelled. Not much else makes much sense but my mind isn't closed. Any one of the sensible scenarios could have happened.

Ivana Janine: Buckingham was claiming at first that he was rebelling to put Edward V back on the throne, so I don't see how that would even work. And why would Buckingham care about the boys more than Richard did?

RJay At one time, I thought Margaret Beaufort was the culprit. But is she had the boys murdered, H7 would have been aware and no longer worried about the threat of pretenders. I also agree with Sharon that R3 didn't do it - he was just too loyal to Edward and had no reason once the boys were considered illegitimate. Mystery remains unsolved.
