That's a very interesting point, though, about how the west and everything about it was such a part of the culture as it was happening. The very nature of the expansion led to large undertakings like the railroad, telegraph, etc., which were always in the newspapers and posters. I just love that it's a world in which you wanted to set a story, it's one of my faves.

And don't stop writing in all of those different worlds, either! <<<< because I can give orders like that. :p :D
