It took me 6 nights to read it. Normally for a book of this size it would take 2 maybe 3 nights. It was nowhere as good as To kill.... but I am glad I read it.... even with all the rambling!
I started enjoying it more when I realized that it was a relatively authentic story. While TKAM was set several years before it was published, this story was set at the time it was written and Ms. Lee was living what she wrote about. The "baby" talk was irritating, but also probably accurate. I also think people are forgetting that this story, like TKAM, is told through Scout's filter. It's what she sees, not what necessarily what *is*.

I had to take it back to the library but I admit I started getting interested after I posted this question. So, thanks, y'all, I will try again later.
