I definitely agree with you. On the whole, I think suicide is a very selfish act. But this isn't simply suicide. It's not black and white. Until you have lived the way he did, it's impossible for you to truly understand, and to predict what you would do in the same situation. I think we all hope that we would learn to love life again, and to find the joy in small things. But the truth is living in a life of pain and constant struggle would be overwhelmingly hard. None of us have the right to judge what is right for that person. As a human being you should have the right to make that decision for yourself.

Plus in this situation he had already given it 3 years, plus then the additional 6 months he promised his mother. This wasn't a whim or impulsive decision. It was a well thought out plan.
Just because we don't necessarily agree, doesn't mean we shouldn't try our best to understand.

Absolutely agree. Unless you have personally been in that situation you don't know how you would feel, how you would act, how you would cope.
