I read somewhere that a brain surgeon told Dr. Seuss he planned on writing a children's book some weekend, and Dr. Seuss told him that he planned on performing brain surgery some weekend. I don't know much about writing a children's book, but maybe it's not as easy as it appears.
Well to be fair, Seuss was already halfway to brain surgeon with the title of 'doctor.' ;)
I know some folks who make it look effortless, but just thinking about trying to write for kids hurts my brain.

I agree that writing for a young age is tough. I just published "Giggle A Little Giggle" and most that have read it say it's too short and I explain to them that it was written with a toddler-6yr. old in mind.
