Thank you for you comment on the situation. I appreciate your concern, however the author never said the subject matter at hand was not mentioned he simply said it was not graphic. Again I say this not because I do not appreciate the clarification, but rather in defense of the author. I am glad to know what I am getting into though. Thanks.
Thanks. My comment does say that this was not a graphic scene. But the Authors comment could mislead parents, youth, or other readers that would prefer to avoid reading books with sexual reference in them. His exact words were "there is no sex", which is a clear mis-representation.
I appreciate your comment, Micah. It's good to know that kind of thing before you read a book. I'd love to have ratings on books! (Books that ARE listed as Adult or YA can vary from PG to R+.)
Micah, I certainly wasn't trying to mislead you or anyone else. The original question mentioned "graphic sex" and that was what I was responding to. As I said this is not a YA book (although even YA books have sex in them these days). It's written for adults, and each parent is going to have a different barometer for what is apporiate for their teens. My daughter had already read Terry Goodkind (which can be quite graphic) by the time I started writing my books and I wrote them with her (and people like her in mind). Which is to say that I don't pretend that sex doesn't exist, but I also don't have a play-by-play as it is occurring. I hope that clarifies things.
