I think I would have to add, were I part of this conversation which I now am because I'm a party crasher: You don't even actually have to have legitimate drawing skills.

which...heh heh heh...illustrates your point quite well, actually. Her drawing abilities start out maniacal and drop down into 5-year-old territory on her blog but by the time this book came out, they're pretty well-honed thanks to all the practice she did. She got good at making kid-art a viable medium of expression.

Allie Brosh is one of my heroes. I love her work, and I think the medium and the content are a perfect match.

And yeah, I'm very generous with the time I give to myself. Which sounds gross. I regret saying that.
