Oh! Now I want to reread CNV (and I only just read it last month). And I so want to find out what happened to Anna! How did she fare in the trial? Did she and Rose ever meet again and go for a flight? Did she ever learn that Rose was good friends with the same Maddie she'd read so much about? Or, for that matter, (assuming she survived the trial/imprisonment) did she get to MEET Maddie?? (I don't necessarily expect an answer, but these are questions I find on my mind, having finished the book last night. :-))
someday I kind of want to write a book about the next generation in which all these questions get answered. :D (But don't hold your breath waiting for it.)
Haha! Just the answer I suspected I'd be given. :-)
And I realize Anna and Maddie DID meet, in France, but still, I'm envisioning a time when Anna comes to Scotland to visit Rose, and of course Maddie is there, and then all the pieces fall into place. (I think this is the sort of scenario that drives fan fiction. But I am not a fanfic writer. ;-) ) I will have to be content with my imagination while I'm not holding my breath, and then be super excited if a new book turns up somewhere down the road!
