Part of the charm of the Kim Stone series is the British language and places like Black Country. I am from the United States, California, and to learn about an area like Black Country is very interesting and it is part of the flavor of the book.

I had wondered myself if Angela Marsons lived there or grew up there. She writes about it as almost another character. I also agree with the person who asked the question. The area suits Kim Stone and her personality. You can tell Kim is fond of the area.

Hi Aimee, I was indeed brought up in the Black Country and still live there. It is dark and gritty but I still feel we have much to be proud of :-) x
