Amazing interpretation, especially the observation that that Other Mommy has entered a world no different than the one she left because Bela took her home with her, and a home is what Other Mommy was hoping to find when she took over Bela. I really, really like that idea. I think it also mitigates that dark ending by reflecting the optimism and essential goodness of Bela's father (who ultimately balances her mother's darker, more negative inner feelings about her life path and choices).
