agreed! 1Q84 has the same feeling...
Yes, but 1Q84 completes all circles.
So far (pg. 398 on Nook) Dario is right, but considering other Murakami books, ”Kafka on the Shore” beeing my favourite, I expect them to close towards the end.
Absolutely agree! I feel cheated, like the author has just made things up as he went along and tied them together as loosely as possible without any regard for a coherent story.
I too, was left with quite a few questions about story lines that I didn't feel were well resolved. Murakami is such a captivating writer and I can't put him down no matter how ambivalent I am about his stories at times. He could have done a whole story about the Zoo and Nutmegs family.
Dario - exactly! I stopped at page 522 (607 book length). I quit at the point where the baseball players were bayoneted...I felt many many pages were wasted on "why?" even though very well written.
I totally agree with you. I thought nobody else had the same experience so I am glad to see that somebody else did. I find the writing, word usage and ambiance wonderful, but as you said, the whole story is pointless.
