Just wanted to point out that cover art for big titles is often done months and months before the manuscript is even turned in. We had the cover for GRRM's A DANCE WITH DRAGONS years before it came out.
As the guy who saw the cover, I can also state that it's more or less generic and doesn't really have anything to do with any particular storyline.
I can also say that I was shown the cover art for TWMF when I visited the Daw offices in NYC a few years back, and that several months before it was annonced that the book would be pushed back for about a year.
The book will be released when it's ready. Rothfuss and Betsy Wollheim won't permit anything that's not his best effort to be published. . .
