Nina took Christopher's bunny and pretended to look for it after everyone realised it was lost. She even pretended to call the store where they had all been at last all the while she was holding the bunny in her hand. This shows that Nina had clear intentions to come up with a plan which involved putting Christopher in harm's way and therefore hurt Emma in the most painful way she could.
