I think I'm in the minority here but I don't want Heidi with Murphy. I think Axel is a great guy and think he 's perfect for Heidi. While Murphy is older then Axel and Heidi he has a lot more growing up to do. I think the feelings Murphy and Heidi have are shared memories and familiarity. There's love there but not the love needed for a grown up relationship.
I agree. I think their book is going to give me fits. Murphy can be really good like he was to Heidi in 3 Kings and how he took care of Hope in SFL when they were downstate. But he can also be a manwhorin' jerk when he wants to be. :D
If Heidi does unfortunately end up with the undeserving bad guy Murphy than I hope that you do make him work REALLY REALLY hard to earn her, and she MAKES him jump through major hoops & doesn't just accept all his disgusting whoring aroundm or just dismiss it like in so many of these types of strories because his "love" so far is completely unbelievable. He comes across as more than happy with all his constant stream of women. Axel is the honourable loyal alpha male, not Murphy, so I'm really looking forward to see how you write this.
I couldn't disagree more, yes Murphy is sharing himself with lots of women, but, we have to remember that Heidi is not of legal age yet. He is a grown man and I think the reason he is with lots of women is that while he is waiting for her to turn 18, he doesn't want to commit to any other woman but her. I really want these two to get together because I believe he is really in love with her.
Spreading himself around with SO many women does not speak of love in my opinion, he loves her so much he's nailing everything in sight? So agree to disagree then:)
I can get to your point Kris. Ideally if this was one of those sweet old fashioned romances it would make sense, however, these guys are members of a counterculture. They are not preppy choirboys. We wouldn't be reading this series if they were. I know I wouldn't! The bad boy who finally meets his woman for life is the draw to these stories. In the end, it's just fiction - Happy Reading!
No worries, you have your view and I have mine. For me to buy into this story's HEA the guy would have to not be nailing every female in sight. That does not speak of any type of love or depth of feeling, bad guy or not. That old excuse of he wants her so much he's that he's banging every other female instead does not cut it for me. He's so into her, why is he so very very easily into all these other females - way to easily, that's just really sleazy. For me, I hope she ends up with Axel, or a guy who she deserves. I don't feel that's Murphy because he is a sleazebag who should be disinfected before he gets near her. However, these are my thoughts and I'm not the author, so I'll wait and see how she writes her story. Either I'll love it or I won't LOL.
I guess some of the guys have to be sleazier than others just to keep it interesting. I remember thinking that Rock was a manwhore (Remember the scene when Hope visits the strip club and Rock is getting serviced by the dancer?) He was falling for Hope at the time, but he turned out okay after all. I guess there is something about him that interests me. Anyhoo, I love the "he is a sleazebag who should be disinfected" line, made really laugh! Can't wait for the next book in the series!
I'm curious to see how the author writes Murphy in his own story, I can't imagine what it'll take for me to even just dislike him, because honestly to me he's an unworthy PIG. So, am really looking forward to see if he'll disgust me in his own story and if he really does work for Heidi because honestly I want to appreciate Heidi as a strong woman with self worth, not someone to just accept someone like Murphy without him proving himself to her and showing her that he's not gonna be a manwhore/cheater going forward. Have to say I'll be going into the story with major dislike for him so if I end up liking him at the end that's gonna be some accomplishment by the author lol....Gail I would love to know what you end of up thinking about the book, because I just know our opinions are going to differ greatly lol:)

I am on the fence on who i would like to see Heidi with.. in a way I am pulling for Murphy because he has had feelings for her for so long and they don't seem to be going away. I do understand the point that he is a manwhore , but so were Rock and Wrath and still they turned around for the women they love. I can't imagine it would be easy for him to be celibate for all those years waiting for her to turn 18 ... And since Axel is only now just a prospect, whose to say that being in the "free love" enviorment may not tempt him a little too much and turn him into exaclty the opposite of what he is now?? I can't wait to see Where this story goes :)
Ahh, but Rock was celibate for over a year waiting for Hope (even though at that time he still didn't have a chance with her), that was quite romantic and showed that he had truly deep feelings for her and she meant more to him than just screwing around with other women. Murphy on the other hand is still a complete manwhore, telling me he's not invested in Heidi at all. I mean really, does he need to screw So many women? I loved Rock! I also can't wait to see where that story goes. I just want Heidi to really cause Murphy some pain, after all he also had a 3some with her brother and Trinity and Heidi SAW them. I mean, how do you recover from seeing someone you have feelings for doing that? I guess we'll find out what happens when the book comes out lol. It's certainly generating alot of discussion:)

I love that Mr. Lake is #teamaxel! I haven' decided yet. I loved Axel in SFL when he seemed sort of disgusted by what was going on at the downstate place and how much he seems to care about Heidi. But I also loved Murphy in the "bonus scene" from the box set. And I loved Hope standing up to him in SFL. I wanted to punch in the balls a few times in Tattered, but he sort of redeemed himself in the end. I'm curious how he'll grow and change in the next book. You made me love Trinity and Wrath by the end of Tattered, when I wanted to choke them both to death in the first part of the book! You seem to have your own style and like to buck the trends (it's never popular to write about the club whore, but you did it and made me love her) so I can totally see Heidi and Axel ending up together since that would go against reader expectations.
