Anniehall16 I will go get this book and read the page, because it says she is misquoted. Did you see this from wiki quotes? -- What fresh hell can this be? "If the doorbell rang in her apartment, she would say, 'What fresh hell can this be?' — and it wasn't funny; she meant it." You might as well live: the life and times of Dorothy Parker, John Keats (Simon Schuster, 1970, p124). Often quoted as "What fresh hell is this?" as in the title of the 1987 biography by Marion Meade, "Dorothy Parker: What Fresh Hell Is This?". --" "

Kevin Fitzpatrick Ha ha! Yes there's a lot of misquotes attributed to Parker but she's not in the same league as poor Mark Twain and Hemingway!

Anniehall16 no kidding! But what do you think IS right? Marion Meade or John Keats? :):)

Anniehall16 I think I will assume that John Keats had it wrong. LMK if this is your take as well. just curious. so many misquoted people out there.
