ali ♥ Except, like I said, philosopher is commonly referred to as a scholar of philosophy, rather than one who transmutes 'baser metals' into gold. It may make more sense to you, but the whole point of the change was to clarify the word for audiences in the U.S.

Misha Michael- that would make an awesome book, I would totally read that.

Alyssandra- I agree that was probably the goal, but like many simplifications for clarity, it actually makes things less clear.

Jaden McNally True. And seeing as Dumbledore and Flamel were alchemists, that makes sense.
