I lived through that era, and I knew people that served. Unfortunately, no one came back from the dead to reunite with his family nor his lost love. I know it happened, but rarely, and I hesitate to use the word never, but I would believe that no one had two lost loves emerge from their deaths.
Thanks for confirming the era. I know it was historical fiction, but to me it ruined the credibility.
We certainly knew MIA meant captured or remains unrecoverable, either way not coming back, so no not realistic then or now,
Jamie wasn’t a POW. He was badly injured and was helicoptered out. They were literally doing CPR in the helicopter. Frankie assumed he didn’t make it…that’s why she was looking for his name on the wall.
That's correct, MIA/POW comments pertain to Rye. But no reason for Frankie to "assume" anything about Jamie, he was in the system & she could easily check on him...so why didn't she?
