Mike Breitman Thanks for the response Ben!

I definitely agree with waiting for TV, especially with the quality programs that are being put out on networks such as HBO, Netflix, etc.

Believe it or not, I have always had Joel Edgerton in mind for Dewey. I really can't say why, but right off the bat he was the one I pictured on the oil rig in Power Down.

Thanks again, and I can't wait for Independence Day!

Mike

Linda Gleaves I pictured Gerard Butler.

message 3: by Michael (new)

Michael Toss I like Karl Urban.

message 4: by Kirk (new)

Kirk Huge Dewey fan. Love the books. Idk why but I always picture Steven Seagal 90s version lol...

message 5: by Allen (new)

Allen Thomas Anyone except Tom Cruise.

message 6: by Malia (new)

Malia I could see those actors in the role, especially Hunnam. I always imagine Josh Holloway (from LOST) as Dewey. Looking forward to the new book!

message 7: by Felix (new)

Felix Jason Momoa. For some reason he pops into my head as I read your novels.

message 8: by Sandy (new)

Sandy Peter Hermann, the narrator of the audio books is the sh**! His voice Is Dewey! Gritty, strong...a good template for the perfect actor. I vote for someone new or lesser known, staying true to his physical image. A series would be outstanding!

message 9: by James (new)

James McCallister I agree, Peter Herman was outstanding in this. When Dewey is arguing with himself, Peter Herman nails it better than most I have listened to. I have looked for other projects , no avail?

message 10: by Chris (new)

Chris Lassaline I think Matt Best would make a good Dewy. If he could be not hilarious for a moment.

message 11: by Jerry (new)

Jerry I think that Gerald Butler would be perfect for the role of Dewey. He is the right height, somewhat ragged looking, and about the right age.

message 12: by Joseph (new)

Joseph Hayes Karl Urban is a great choice! Big and strong, with a lot of attitude.

message 13: by Rod (new)

Rod Gregg I'd love to see a real life former SMU cool guy that can bring reality to the character because after all, Dewey is a WYSIWYG kind of guy.

message 14: by DesSaint (new)

DesSaint Although they are not white, Jason Momoa and Dwayne Johnson would both do Dewey proud. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Momoa

message 16: by Steven (new)

Steven Kellan Lutz or Jeremy Renner. For Jessica Tanzer maybe Anna Faris or Abby Cornish. Thora Birch or Troian Bellisario as Hector's daughter, and Vince Vaughn, Zachary Quinto, Joe Manganiello, Carmine Giovinazzo, or Anthonu Sabato Jr. as Hector. For the First POTUS, maybe John Travolta and for Dellenbaugh maybe Keanu Reeves (he did play Hockey) or may John LeClair or Wayne Gretzky?

message 17: by George (new)

George As for an actor for Dewey, Tom Hardy (46) would be awesome. The other 2 don't seem "beefy" enough.
Other possibles are Henry Cavill (40), Chris Hemsworth (40), and Travis Fimmel (44).

message 18: by Steven (new)

Steven Greg Finley, Patrick Dempsey, or Christopher Daniel Barnes as Dewey (they're from Maine and it would be befitting) but Alejandro Villanueva would work as well, given he's a former Ranger, for Hector maybe Tony Shalhoub or Erik Palladino or Cliff Curtis, for President maybe John O'Hurley, for Jessica Tanzer maybe Maria Sten (she has been great at Frances Neagley in Reacher) or Mozhan Marnò or maybe Alycia Debnam-Carey or Merecedes Mason. James Callis as the brother of the Alexander Fortuna, Omid Abtahi as Alexander Fortuna, Parminder Nagra as the asset in the Fortuna's father's estate, Amir Arison as Kohl Mier, Marco Khan as Fortuna's father, and maybe Abby Cornish as Katie and Kevin Lacz or Cade Courtley as Rob. Both Lacz and Courtley are retired SEALs. Nate Boyer, Paul R. Howe, or Jason Everman for Dewey might work, but wait a few years Thomas Payne might be a great pick when he retires. If you go with Howe, you could get his real-life wife to portray Tanzer or Dewey's late wife, and she is the daughter of the founder of Delta Force. For the CEO that died, last year I would have suggested Billy Waugh as a tribute to his contributions to history, but he died in April.

message 19: by Susanne (new)

Susanne Leist Hi Ben, When I read your books, Dewey resembles Jack Reacher, no matter how hard I try to picture a different character. Dewey and Reacher have similar personalities. Both are socially awkward and rely on brawn, but Dewey is placed in more challenging situations requiring more cunning and intelligence. In other words, your writing is on a higher level. Thank you for creating Dewey.
