Sean Bai Mr. Bennett, I'm not sure if you will see this but you are one of my biggest inspirations for writing science fiction. I'm trying to write sci-fi that is unique and different than yours but I like the tactics and variety of space/ground combat in your series. I want to write sound based weapons and gravity based weapons used in space, so I hope I can pull that off.

Stephen Bennett Good luck, and persevere. I started my story in 1981, and put Koban on hold until 2012. I could have had more written before 2012 offered me self publishing. Let me know when you have a book out. It sounds like a type I enjoy reading.

Sean Bai Thanks! That would be an honor. I don't know anything about weapons but I'm worried that doing research on guns (probably not that by itself), grenades, nuclear weaponry, missiles, and more will cause the FBI to have a red alert. I want my series to be pretty realistic.

Sean Bai My series will include several different types of aliens. I was also inspired by the Stargate tv series, and this series draws its main inspiration from Egyptian Mythology. But later on I'll use my creativity by writing a different type of species never seen before.

I was also wondering if I could reference your series in my book? My protagonist was named Terry, by parents who liked science fiction, which is why they gave him a name that sounds like Terran. I was hoping my character could have his favorite books with him in space. :)

I don't like reading about humans fighting humans, so I won't be writing this. The main focus is on a brewing alien war.
