You're welcome. I did forget something - these are narrated by Natalie, not Sharona. So, timeline wise they're set during/after season 3. Though, I don't think there's much spoilers in the books, unless you count facts and tidbits about Natalie's life as spoilers. The actual cases, though are contained - they're not add-ons to on-screen episodes. So, I'd say it's up to you - if you haven't watched to Season 3 and the arrival on Natalie, whether you want to wait or go ahead and read them.

Hello! I found more info out. The books starting with "Mr. Monk on the Road" are set after the TV finale - so book #11 and on. I hadn't gotten to those books yet, so I wasn't aware of that! So waiting till you complete the series to read those books might be a good idea.

Also, I've read books 1, 3 & 4 and noticed only minor continuity with them - Natalie meets a firefighter in #1, and he's mentioned in #3 and 4, And I think #3 mentioned something that happened in #1 - but IMO, these aren't detailed or serious that you'd be lost if you missed one or read them out of order. Just like if you missed an episode or watched them out of order, you'd still be able to enjoy it and follow along.
Though, reading some reviews of later books (ones I haven't gotten to), these things might increase, where books sort of flow into another and build off the next. I think the books starting and after #11 should be read in order as they' seem to be surrogates for the TV show, where as the previous ones are less so - they're more like add ones and extras. If that makes sense.
Though I have read reviews of people who start with book #14 and skip and read around as they get the books at the library or whatever, which along with my experience of the first books, is why I answered the way I did.
