I have set my first book in Idaho where I grew up, but I will likely set a book in Iceland, Alaska, Colorado since I lived in those places, maybe England because I visited there, but I have to go to a place and take lots of pictures so I can write about actually places and things.
I am hoping one day to visit Japan because I do love it so much. Alas, the budget just won't let me ;-) so I make extensive use of Google Maps (street view made me Google's fan for life!), videos on YouTube and the like, people's travel blogs, and pictures.
It is one great thing about our Internet connected world and love of sharing all we do :-D
