Yeah, destroying he early stuff is extreme, and even self-defeating. I've found that some of my early ideas were worth salvaging, even if the writing wasn't. When I was young(er) and stupid(er) I came up with lots of ideas the present-day me would never consider, yet with experience they can be salvaged.
