I think it refers to the girl he watched getting raped when he was a kid. Also I assume it means the person he is writing to is a good person. I thought it might be Susan, but I doubt a girl is going to take advantage of a guy at a party. If you take him at his word, it is a complete stranger.
In my opinion there are two possibilities who was this girl. Either it was Sam - you know she used to have this reputation, maybe it was one good guy which said no. Or it might be his sister, she went to lots of parties and had "self-harming" tendentions in relationships.
In my opinion "sleeping with someone's girl" refers to sleeping with a friend's daughter. Like Sam said that a colleague of her father had molested her.. So maybe that's what Charlie means when he says didn't sleep with someone's girle even though e could have.
I don't know.. This is just what I understood
Charlie does not actually write "sleeping with someone's girl." What he writes is "I am writing to you because she said you listen and understand and didn’t try to sleep with that person at that party even though you could have."
