How you would describe the enjoyment of writing your stories?
For me, the particular enjoyment of writing or reading is enchantment with the execution of an unforeseen plot twist and clever word choice. Call it an encounter with excellence, even within the self. I find it akin to sitting on a beach on Florida’s East Coast near the Kennedy Center, watching a plumb of smoke from a launched space shuttle vanish above, eyes following the path of a spent booster rocket descending onto the offshore pad – the empty 2000,000 lb. booster landing like a graceful ballerina on point. Ah! I strive to write to the “Ah” as Amor Towles does in all the books I’ve read. Writer and reader must be enchanted.
