Stephanie I will be honest, I used to be a teacher at a pretty small school and I really didn't know the students I didn't have in class, even at my small school. I may have been able to recognize them/know them if they were more popular, but not just by virtue of them being in a sport. Even a star of the sport. If it was a large school I could see her not knowing, but that isn't me excusing her. I just was trying to figure out in my post-read re-think if she had any chance of not knowing him.

I guess that is probably what she was supposed to mean by saying that they really couldn't be together? It does then make me wonder why she was so disturbed by her husband being a predator and why she was letting herself get away with it.

Thanks for your answer!

Natalie Dinard I guess I figure that even if she didn’t recognize him at school, I’m sure she would’ve recognized he was off school age. Maybe I’m extremely nosy, but I’d have to see if he was a student at my school 😂😂

Summer & Eve kept saying jay has a wife and baby at home. Do she really didn't know he was a student. At the end addie mentions Hudson aka jay babysat his 1 yr old brother a lot. So that's why eve had no idea. She just assumed jay was married and had a baby

Stephanie She didn't say he had a wife and baby at home. She said there was a baby and "her". That is certainly what was implied, but it was never explicitly said. The readers were meant to assume that that was his wife and baby. She may very well have known it was his mom and brother and that he was a student, I just couldn't remember if there was evidence to support that. If he was in her class, I would assume that meant she certainly recognized him.
