Depressing that anyone references American Pie to Madonna

Dear Torin! I was born in 1986 - 15 years after this song was recorded and released. I know that this is Don McLean's song. But I do not always control my thoughts while reading, and that's why the first thought after I've read this line was "Why the line from Madonna's song is here?" I beg your pardon if I somehow hurt your feelings.
