However, on re-reading The King's Name, you have a REALLY good point, Balaji, and they're closer than I thought when I wrote this answer. Re-reading the "time is rent from the worlds" section today I was thinking to myself "Wait, could this be in the Thessaly universe?" I'm still right that it isn't, because the Thessaly universe has one erasable world and the Sulien universe has multiple beads-on-a-string worlds, but what I was doing with time there is really really similar. You're the only person who ever asked about this.
