I was thinking so too but then thought if she had been that close to suicide why go through the abortion. Though maybe that's exactly what was the tipping point.
At that point, it does appear that Cassie has nothing to live for, but even her mention of a new beginning may indicate she's not yet ready to give up.
I think that after the chef told her he took his girlfriend to the taxidermy shop...that just did it for Cassie. Ugh I'm so sad after reading this.
