Lauren Thank you so much for answering my question, Rose! I am so inspired by what you wrote, especially the last line: "Discernment, then persistence, can help us to achieve our goals." It makes me think of an analogy with my piano students. Sometimes they have persistence, but not discernment. So they work hard, but they play and repeat the same mistake over and over again. Or else, they have discernment, recognizing the best way they can play the music, but have no persistence to keep practicing. We need both discernment and persistence, yes!

One thing that I appreciate so much about "Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening" is how you introduce standards for Enlightenment teaching. Thank you for bringing us more spiritual discernment!

Rose Rosetree Regarding the general fuzziness around standards for Enlightenment Teaching, I'm glad you appreciate that I do have standards. In that context, you and all the other Goodreaders here are invited to search on this:

“Enlightenment Validation. Discernment Jamboree”
Include the quotes in your search.
That will take you to an article where you can unfuzz your standards, as it were. Of course, you're all invited to comment there as well.
