Wow, great catch! The postcard was addressed to "Allie" & that slid right by me! Also, when William found Abigail's handwritten notes in the book, he saw it as a second chance to have something new from her.
I thought William’s connection to Alice possibly was that they were in a literature class together in college, which he mentions is where he and Abigail met.
And, William tucks the postcard from Peter to Alice between the pages of Theo. It’s as if Alice is hugging Peter. This is my favorite connection.
