It's pretty sucky, but that doesn't have a damn thing to do with whether or not it's feminist.
the first book isn't this great and can I just say it's extremely rude to say something like that about a book that took someone a lot of effort and time to write, and they poured their heart out writing it. If I ever find something that you wrote I'll "download it then laugh at it."
hahahahaha I haven't read the books but I loved your review. Made me LOL You 'da man' wink wink! I have to read them now!
I HATE U ALL
except for Dominika and Nicholea.
I don't mind if you don't like it but really? You don't have to trash talk someone like that. Someone spent hours writing that book. THE AUTHOR WROTE IT WHEN SHE WAS 16. so basically your telling a 16 years old girl that her work is only worth reading to make fun of it (in a bad way). Can you not just be polite? If you don't have anything good to say/post, then doest say/post it! I notice that your profile is private, which is a good thing BECAUSE OTHER WISE I WOULD GATHER AN ARMY OF FAN GIRLS TO DESTROY YOU.

The Man has not checked this review since he first posted it. The Man feels there are things he needs to clear up.
First of all, The Man is a firm believer in equality between the sexes - therefore The Man is a feminist. This book is "feminist" because the only thing "feminist" about it is that the main character is female. She regularly disses on typically feminine things despite partaking in them herself, and from what I recall holds a vendetta against another character whose name escapes me simply because she's interested in the same man.
Secondly, just because someone puts a lot of effort into something doesn't mean it is suddenly unable to be criticised. Many people put much effort into their work, but reviews and critique are monumental for developing your work further in a better way. I read this book, thought it was trash, so I said it was trash. I did not care about this book enough to give it meritable critique and instead opted for this thing many people refer to as "a joke". This seems to anger people.
And yes, Halima, I am saying that a 16-year-old's writing is laughably bad. And you know why I can say this? Because SJM is a 30-something-year-old professional author, not a 16-year-old writing fan fiction on the internet. She should know better by now, and if she doesn't then all it proves is that she only has the bare-minimum skill in writing.
And finally, lol.

Ummm... did you misunderstand Halima’s comment? The reason why the later books are so much better in terms of world building and character development are because the first book was written when the author was sixteen. SIXTEEN! I know for a fact that in Australia at least, if you choose IB you have to write a 40,000 word essay on something as one of your tasks. This is for a 17-18 year old. Sarah J Maas was 16. A novel is typically 80,000-120,000 words long. The first book may be comparatively bad but which one of you could write a critically acclaimed novel at 16?
Well alright, okay, not tryna attack anyone here. I am quite saddened by the fact that you would compare your experiences of ToG to ‘Ass Cream’ instead of Ice Cream. Just remember that ToG is YA, so it will naturally be more appealing for teens and some tweens. However I do not take lightly to being called ‘bitch,’ and I am also saddened that you had to resort to name calling. Is that clear?
Dude... some people just don’t get it. I am a big fan of ToG, it’s clear you are not. Can we just stop this discussion? It’s getting very rude and my sixth-grade self does not like it.
