Me too! It was long & obscure, & I needed something definitive to happen between Sadie & Sam in real time right afterward. Sam always gave Sadie all he was capable of emotionally, but she withheld from him repeatedly throughout the story.
I agree! It really made me upset how Sam seemed to mature and grow and Sadie didn’t until the very end. Especially after Marx tells her Sam probably didn’t know about Dov being her ex when they asked for Ulysses and she still never re-assessed her judgment of Sam and still let her anger towards him go on for so long afterwards.
And I didn't even think her anger about that was justified! She was a grown woman & in that moment made her own decision to put the company first, Sam didn't & couldn't compel her to take that risk.
I think she was more mad at herself for going to Dov and realizing afterwards it was a mistake to get back involved with him, but it was easier to take her anger out on Sam and blame him for everything.
Agree. It was a business deal with Dov, so Sadie didn't even need to be the one to go, but I think she wanted to see him again.
I think her behavior was very typical of young females; disappointing, but not unusual. It made me so sad to see her let herself be treated the way she was by Dov. Also, not unusual.
