Thank you so much! That is a great advice. I already tried rereading parts, and i am getting more motivated now to really try reed on, cause it will surely be a great book :)

I read the abridged version when I was 12 and hated it immensely regardless I was an excel reader at that age and tackled many challenging literature at that time. Long story short, I read it again for school, and was forced to finish it, and I LOVED it at the end. To date, this remains as on of my favorites. Currently, I am reading the unabridged version. Now, the first 1/3 of the book does not quite make sense since Dickens tried to lay out the historical background and to build the characters; the middle half is quite confusing as there are many different incidences and nothing seems related to the plot; the last part is very the essence and the highlight of all the hard work you have put in. Perseverance is the key to get through the book. Good luck!
Absolutely. Dickens' dominance of the English language was unique and impossible to match. In addition it was written during an era of transition to English language as a whole. The language was turning into what it is today, so don't feel discouranged. :)
Your advice is just mindblowing. :)
I loved every single word of it. Your advice should also be applied not only to Dickens but to any book written more than a century ago.
Now i'm convinced to buy and read the book. Thanks Sarah!
Just read your advice having finished the book. This was exactly what I did while reading it and it really helped. I gave it 5 stars in the end because I found it so enjoyable.
