Gary Barnett This answer confounds me; it's as if Amanda reads for the plot but cares not a whit for the art. Makes the world go 'round, I spose! I mean no offense---it's only my most recommended book since it was published, so i have a hard time understanding how one could prefer the movie, which I turned off after 10 minutes.

Amanda And likewise, I have a hard time understanding how someone can enjoy art for the sake of art when there is no point. So, there is that.

Glad you enjoyed the movie.

Perhaps my background in fine art has bled over into my enjoyment of the art of the well crafted turn of phrase; that never lessens my equal enjoyment of storytelling---so we have that at least generally in common, n'est-ce pas?
