I like your forgiving attitude, Martha. I aspire to your level-headed approach to Mr. McConaughey's graphic descriptions of his family life whilst he was growing up, but I'm not there yet. Frankly, I found his upbringing appalling, and his parent's behavior criminal.
Thank you for your comment, Pat. My forgiving attitude comes from an understanding that we are all flawed as human beings. I've met a few individuals lately who had tough childhoods, and instead of hating their mother or father, they recognized that their parents were dealing with their own demons and they feel that they wouldn't be the strong successful people today that they are if their childhood had been different. What an amazing attitude to have by these people. Many kids have less than perfect childhoods....People like McConaughey set an example of turning a negative into a positive....We need a lot more people like that imho.
